United Way’s Child Care Resource
& Referral September 2006 Trident United Way’s Child Care Resource & Referral (CCR&R), has earned certification from Child Care Aware® Quality Assurance – a national voluntary certification program. The Child Care Aware Quality Assurance system is designed to ensure that families across the country have access to consistent, high quality services that support them in making informed child care choices. CCR&Rs that attain Quality Assurance meet a set of criteria for best practice. Those criteria define measurable, relevant outcomes and indicators for consumer education and referral service. United Way's CCR&R is the only nationally certified program in South Carolina, and one of only a handful in the South. “Certification tells parents that they can count on receiving excellent child care consumer education when they engage our services,” said Amy DeCola, CCR&R director. CCR&R connects Lowcountry families with the child care that fits their needs, and works with providers to improve quality by offering training, accreditation support, and a lending library. CCR&R can be reached at 747-9000 or online at www.tuw.org. Child Care Aware is an initiative of NACCRRA, the nation’s network of child care resource and referral.
