Suicide Prevention Seminar
Springtime Means More Depression and Suicide
There are 32,000 people in the U.S. each year for
whom life is so excruciating that killing themselves seems like the
only way out. The number has grown steadily for 30 years, and Spring
is when the most suicides occur.
Each of us can help prevent suicide by understanding
why it happens, learning practical prevention tips and getting information
on local resources.
Trident United Way’s 2-1-1 Hotline presents Break
the Silence: Understanding and Preventing Suicide at 6:00 p.m. on
Thurs. June 12 at Trident Health Finders in the Northwoods Mall.
The program features a panel of people who will share
their personal experiences and trainers with information on current
research about suicide risk assessments.
